„An exceptional young cellist (…) he represents the finest of the emerging talents of today” - Raphael Wallfisch

Bartłomiej Filip Fromm was born in 1993 in Bydgoszcz, Poland, into a family with musical traditions passed down for many generations. After being taught by the members of his family for the first few years of his life, at the age of 5 he began his formal music education. His first public performances took place since in his hometown, that’s also where he was later admitted for Bachelor studies at the Academy of Music in the class of Renata Marzec and where was awarded the scholarship for outstanding students. Later he moved to Gdańsk, Poland, to study with Marcin Zdunik. After acquiring his Masters Diploma he continued his artistic development studying with one of the most renowned cellist in the world, Alban Gerhardt.

He also participated in multiple master classes and lessons with many outstanding professors: Arto Noras (Finland), Markus Möllenbeck (Germany), Kazimierz Michalik (Poland), Tomasz Strahl (Poland) and Bartosz Koziak (Poland). He has performed in Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Germany, France and Spain.

As a soloist, he gave concerts recently with Festival Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Kalisz Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, The Polish Philharmonic Orchestra Sinfonia Baltica and Chamber Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk under the baton of conductors such as Horst Sohm, Tomasz Bugaj, Paweł Kos-Nowicki, Ruben Silva and Przemysław Stanisławski.

He shared the stage with many established musicians of his generation already, including: Johanna Röhrig, Aleksandra Świgut, Piotr Pawlak, Marta Gidaszewska, Piotr Nowak. Also worth mentioning is his exceptionally vast repertoire, constantly expanding, including 12 cello concertos amongst other works. 

The artist's latest achievements include distinctions received at 2 competitions: The International Bach Solo Competition and The Primuz International Strings Competition. Currently he is one of the finalists of the prestigious Starker Foundation Competition.

He improved his chamber music skills at numerous master classes, including International Mendelssohn Festival Summer School in Hamburg. His playing as a chamber musician can be heard on two published album recordings. 

In addition to his concert activities, he is an active teacher, at the age of 15 he already had his first students.
